DeZIM research networking

Funding: Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth

Project management at IMIS:  Prof. Dr. Andreas Pott

Research and networking coordinator:  Dr. Marcel Berlinghoff

The DeZIM research community brings together seven research institutes with different research perspectives on issues of integration, migration, and racism. Each of the partner institutes has a research networking office, which, together with the central coordination office at the DeZIM Institute, aims to strengthen cooperation, communication, and knowledge transfer within DeZIM, among experts and interested members of the public, as well as in politics and the media

The tasks of the networking offices include supporting and coordinating cooperation projects and the spokesperson team, publishing and editing the DeZIMinutes publication series and the DeZIM-FG newsletter, and organizing events to promote scientific exchange, knowledge transfer, and the strengthening and networking of young scientists in particular. To this end, the research networking offices coordinate specialist workshops and conferences aimed in particular at scientists in the early stages of their careers

The networking offices currently coordinate the following formats:

  • DeZIM.Co-Work: Support for cross-institutional cooperation on publications, project development, and networking
  • DeZIM.Mentoring: One-year mentoring programme for doctoral candidates
  • DeZIMinutes and other publication series: Policy and working papers to communicate current research findings to policymakers and the public
  • DeZIM.Newsletter: News from the DeZIM community
  • DeZIM Conference: Annual alternating specialist conference and doctoral conference
  • FG Wednesday: Monthly internal lecture format for discussing current research
  • DeZIM Workshop Series: Support for cross-institutional workshops for the research community
