The Act on the Nursing professions provides the possibility to accomplish the nursing training part-time. Part-time training is important for people who are caring for family members, working in politics, working besides the training or doing a sport on a professional basis. On the one hand, there are no numbers so far of how many people use the part-time nursing training, on the other hand there is not much information on the parameters, chances and challenges of part-time training. The goal of the project is to give an overview of offering structures, parameters, requirements and challenges of part-time nursing training from the perspective of different parties by using a mixed-method approach.

The results with essential support systems will be processed to nursing schools and practices in the form of handouts.

On the occasion of the International Day of Nursing, the Federal Institute of Vocational Education (BIBB) published the first research-based recommendations about the generalist nursing training. Also, results from the project “Teilzeit in der Pflegeausbildung” in form of a short video were presented.
