Blockchain Competence Centre
About us
Together with a team of researchers and practice partners, we develop projects in the field of blockchain and smart contracts. The Blockchain Competence Center relies on in-depth expertise in the areas of IT security, application development and acceptance research. In addition to developing prototypes, the Blockchain Competence Center at Osnabrück University serves as an interactive platform for start-ups, established companies and interested technology and industry experts to exchange ideas and network. Participants are provided with new research impulses, such as newly developed use cases, which they can build on so that students and managers can benefit from the resulting training courses.
At the Blockchain Competence Center, theoretical and practical orientation are not seen as opposites, but as complementary parts of scientific work. The research areas are examined in particular with regard to the decision-making behavior of users of digital technologies, theories and (impact) models of the use of digital technologies, implications for the development of digital business models and platforms, as well as people's everyday lives. In order to do justice to this extensive range of topics, we work closely with experts from the fields of law, finance, technology management and psychology, among others.
