XR-Lab

The Extended Reality Lab (XR Lab) offers students and researchers access to modern software and hardware from the fields of augmented, mixed and virtual reality. At the same time, it serves as an interactive platform for dialog between science and practice. It focuses on scientific issues relating to the design and application of operational information systems based on XR technologies.

Interested parties can benefit from the in-depth expertise in the fields of human-technology interaction, design science research and experimental research that Prof. Dr. Frank Teuteberg's team has built up in numerous interdisciplinary research projects (e.g.  SoDigital,  va-eva) within the framework of theses, joint studies, workshops and collaborative projects. Together with our renowned practice partners and scientific experts from the disciplines of psychology, cognitive science and law, we are pooling our expertise to actively shape the working world of tomorrow and understand the associated social, ethical and legal implications.

The XR-Lab has modern technical equipment, including in particular input and output devices (e.g. brain-computer interfaces, virtual reality headsets) from the spectrum of augmented and virtual realities, which is continuously being expanded in line with ongoing technological developments. This equipment includes, among others:

  • HTC Vive (Pro)
  • HP Reverb G2 Omnicept Edition
  • Microsoft HoloLens 2
  • Next Mind Developer Kit
  • Oculus Quest 2
  • Meta Quest 3
