Theater of the future: Transcultural practice in dialogue

At a joint event organized by IMIB, Soli*City and FuturMig, theater agents provided insights into transcultural theater work and discussed what a theater of the future could look like in a diverse migration society.

On December 9, the lecture series of the Master's program  International Migration and Intercultural Relations (IMIB) at the  Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) at Osnabrück University,  Soli*City and  FuturMig invited to  Theater Osnabrück to discuss the potentials and challenges of a theater of the future in today's migration society. Tanja Spinger, Svenja Lichtenberg and the invited theater agents offered the more than XYZ students and guests exciting insights into transcultural theater work at Theater Osnabrück.

The Transcultural Department at Theater Osnabrück initiates artistic encounter formats that bring the cultural diversity of the city to life and establish long-term collaborations. Each season, Theater Osnabrück dedicates itself to a different partner region as a programmatic focus. Theater agents help to establish and maintain contacts between the theater and migrant communities. In an open dialog round, participants and theater employees discussed the difficulties that accompany this process and the changes in cultural practice that transcultural theater work triggers.
