Wissensproduktion zum Thema Migration; EU-Grenzregime; Migration im Mittelmeerraum; Solidarität, Aktivismus und Widerstand
Dr. Maurice Stierl leitet das DFG-Forschungsprojekt Die Produktion von Räumen migrantischen Verschwindens (SFB 1604) am Institut für Migrationsforschung und Interkulturelle Studien (IMIS) der Universität Osnabrück. Zwischen 2022 und 2025 leitete er zudem die Nachwuchsgruppe Die Produktion von Wissen über Migration.
Zuvor war er Dozent für Internationale Beziehungen an der Universität Sheffield, Großbritannien. Weitere Lehraufträge bestanden an der Universität Warwick sowie an der Universität von Kalifornien in Davis. Forschungs- und fachliche Schwerpunkte umfassen Migrationskonflikte in Europa und in Afrika, verortet in den Feldern der Internationalen Politischen Soziologie, der Politischen Geographie sowie der Migration, Border & Citizenship Studies.
