Nanomaterials meet membrane biology: Interdisciplinary research training group granted

A three-day excursion to Vienna, led by Prof. Dr. Chadi Touma and Dr. Oliver Ambrée, recently offered 15 biology students from Osnabrück fascinating insights into topics ranging from species conservation to modern zoo and wildlife biology.

In August, the Osnabrück Biology department will host the international symposium „Spatial-temporal interrogation of living membranes“. The event is being organised by the RTG 2900 in collaboration with the summer school of the Master’s program „MemBioMed“.

Renovation work is due to take place in building 35, Section C, to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations. However, this will not affect teaching: seminar and practical rooms will be set up in building 36 for the duration of the work.

Students recently had the opportunity to delve deep into the diversity of marine life during a field trip organised by the Zoology division. Starting from the Alfred Wegener Institute’s Wadden Sea station, they discovered a wide variety of different species.
