Student representative committees

The student councils at the School of Cultural Studies and Social Sciences (FB 1) are made up of all students of the respective subject or discipline.

With the student councils for Geography, History, International Migration and Intercultural Relations (IMIB), Art/Art Education, Social Sciences and Textile Design, there are six different student councils at Faculty 1.

Once a year, the student councils elect their respective representatives, the so-called student councils, consisting of seven members.

One of the tasks of the student council is to actively represent the student body of a subject or discipline, make decisions, organize and carry out events, hold mandates in university committees and thus fulfill university policy tasks. It is a decision-making and action body and acts on behalf of the student body.

For this reason, the student council plays an important role in the university culture by actively involving and supporting the students.

We always have office hours in the student council basement (18/B03) from Monday to Thursday from 12 to 2 p.m. during the semester, where we are happy to answer questions with coffee and tea. During this time, the student council also offers every history student the opportunity to print out 100 pages per semester in the student council basement.
You can reach us by e-mail at  fachschaft-geschichte@uos.de.

The IMIB student council organizes all student matters relating to your studies: Freshers' Day, contact with the institute, elections, get-to-know-you events such as brunch or Christmas parties. We are also closely networked with the student initiative "Studium und dann?!", with which we organize content-related events (e.g. the asylum dialogues, film evenings, etc.).

The student council room is open to all IMIBs for relaxing, drinking coffee or group work. We are always looking forward to new faces, fresh ideas and people who want to shape everyday student life together! We meet regularly every 2 weeks in the student council room 03/321
