The Mediterranean region - a hotspot of biodiversity

Lecture and guided tour to mark the opening of the new Mediterranean House

The Mediterranean region is famous for its enormous diversity of plant species, but also for severe heat and drought during the summer and centuries of intensive grazing. In this lecture we will explore the various adaptations that plants have developed to cope with these harsh conditions. We will then look at these adaptations in the newly opened Mediterranean House as an example.

The lecture and guided tour will be conducted by PD Dr. Stefan Abrahamczyk

Participation is free of charge. We would appreciate a donation.
