Start of studies in the summer semester of 2026: The Biology department welcomes its new Master‘s students

The Biology department is delighted to welcome 24 new students to the international Master‘s programs “Biology – From Molecules to Cells” and “Nanosciences – Materials, Molecules and Cells” for the summer semester.

It was with great pleasure that the Osnabrück Biology department welcomed 24 new first-year students to our international Master’s programs in the summer semester of 2026, 16 on the „Biology – From Molecules to Cells“ program and 8 on the „Nanosciences – Materials, Molecules and Cells“ program. On April 1 and April 2, all new arrivals were invited to take part in an introductory event, which not only included a presentation of the University, the Westerberg Campus and various student activities in Osnabrück, but also facilitated contact with the Biology Student Council and fellow students. Another major part of the introductory event was the presentations by the various divisions within Biology, which outlined their current course offerings in the Master’s programs and provided initial insights into their research and potential Master’s thesis projects.

We are particularly proud of the group’s international mix: despite the current geopolitical travel restrictions, many students have travelled long distances from countries such as Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Bangladesh, India and Nigeria to begin their Master’s degree with us. We hope that, during the induction event, we were able not only to explain the academic framework but also to foster a sense of community and support. We would like to take this opportunity to once again extend a warm welcome to all our new students and wish them every success, inspiring discoveries and an enriching time at Osnabrück University!
