Login to the service Academiccloud.de
1. go to the page www.academiccloud.de
2. click on "LOGIN" (for the "EN" setting) or on "Login" (for the "DE" setting).

3. enter e.g. mmuster@uni-osnabrueck.de under "Login" and click on "Login". This step initially serves to identify which university you come from. What comes before the "@" is irrelevant.

6. please log in with your RZ ID. You will now be redirected to a page where you must confirm that your data may be used for the "academiccloud.de" service. Unfortunately, I cannot attach the screen shot of the page, as this page is no longer displayed after approval has already been granted.
7. if you go back to the "academiccloud.de" page after confirming the data release, clicking on "Cloud" will take you to the initial page for file management:
If the "Cloud" etc. fields are not displayed, please try a different browser.
Useful information:
Upload new files to the cloud or create them directly in the cloud:
New files can be added to the cloud using the plus button at the top of the screen. Files can be uploaded from your computer to the cloud by selecting Upload and then selecting the desired file from your computer.
New folders can be created in the cloud by selecting Folder. After you have clicked on this, you will be asked for the name of the folder in the same field, which you can choose freely.

Sharing files with other people:
To share files with other people, please select the red underlined option for the file you want to share. You will always find this to the right of the files stored in the cloud.

Once you have clicked on this, you will be taken to the sharing selection by default, which looks like this:

You now have two options for sharing files. Firstly, there is the option of making the desired files permanently available to another user. If you want to do this, stay on the "User and Groups" option. Here you need to enter the e-mail address of the person who should have access to your files, for example mmustermann@uni-osnabrueck.de.
The user should then be displayed. As soon as you have clicked on the user, they should be stored and the file you have shared will be visible as soon as the page is refreshed. (Page refresh can be done via F5).
The other option is a "Public link." If you click on this option, you have the option of generating a link that other users can use to access the desired files. Certain settings can be made in the following menu:

Among other things, the link can be named with Link. You can also select whether a person can only download and view the files or whether they can also edit them.
Furthermore, the Password option allows you to set a password that must be entered when the link is called up before access to the shared data is granted.
Finally, there is the option to set an expiration date for the link. When this date is reached, the link becomes inactive and it is no longer possible to download the shared files via this link. Please also note that the link deactivates itself after 180 days.

As soon as you have created the link, you will find it again under the sub-item Public Links. You can copy the link there directly to your clipboard using the red underlined option and pass it on using CTRL + v.
Shared editing of files:
Office documents, when shared and opened at the same time, are always synchronized in real time.
Download in different formats:
There is the option to download files in different formats. To do this, select the red underlined option to the right of the desired file.
