New at the university: Prof. Spiekermann

Osnabrück University welcomes Prof. Dr. Björn Spiekermann! Since April 1, he has held the professorship "Modern German Literature with a Focus on Early Modern Times" in the School of Language and Literary Studies.

His research focuses on the culture and literature of the early modern period and modernity around 1900, with a particular interest in orthodoxy and heterodoxy from the Reformation to the Enlightenment, the reception of antiquity in the modern period, the relationship between the arts from the 17th to the 20th century and the popular communication of knowledge in the same period. Teaching covers the entire field of German literature in a European context with a focus on the early modern period.

A warm welcome!
