Taking Teaching Further

Excellent teaching is one of the core tasks of universities and is of decisive importance for academic success. Osnabrück University is characterized by a special degree of innovative capacity in studies and teaching, which is structurally anchored and sustainably promoted in order to continuously develop the quality of teaching through innovative concepts.

A particularly successful model was established in 2018 with the LehrZeit format and the LehrKolleg as an exchange forum. Since then, 26 projects have been funded with a total of around € 1.5 million in the form of contracts for teaching assistants and staff positions. In line with Osnabrück University's participatory approach, the project groups are required to consist of students and teaching staff in order to promote a creative exchange on good teaching between the two main stakeholders. The importance of LehrZeit for profile development and as a driving force for innovation can be seen in the great success of Osnabrück University in various calls for proposals to promote innovative teaching.
