Viktor van Versendaal has been a research associate at the Collaborative Research Center “Producing Migration” (SFB 1604) since February 2025. He conducts research within subproject C3, “The Production of Spaces of Skilled Labor Migration: Recruitment and Mobility of Medical Doctors,” focusing on the role of hospitals in the assessment and construction of professional qualifications of internationally migrated physicians. His particular interest lies in how practices of recruitment and evaluation of medical personnel generate and reproduce migration-related distinctions and representations, and how these contribute to the production of qualifications and professional status.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and completed a Master’s degree in the interdisciplinary Global Studies Programme at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, with academic stays at FLACSO in Buenos Aires and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
