Professor of Vegetation Ecology and Botany at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences

Main research areas: Restoration ecology, influence of land use on vegetation, success monitoring in nature conservation

Prof. Dr. Kathrin Kiehl has been a professor at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences since 2007 and teaches (among other things) in the joint Master's degree program "Soil, Water, Contaminated Sites" at Osnabrück University and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. After completing her Doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel (1997) and habilitation (vegetation ecology) at the TU Munich (2006), she completed her habilitation in geography at Osnabrück University in 2016.

Kathrin Kiehl is a member of the editorial boards of the journals  Restoration Ecology and  Tuexenia.

From 2006 to 2012 she was Secretary and until 2014 Board Member of  SER Europe, the European section of the Society for Ecological Restoration.
