Dr. Felix Bücken
Research assistant
Member of the Geography Didactics working group
Research focus: Governance of land use, land management, sustainability transformation, organizational resilience, climate impact adaptation, stakeholder and network analysis
Felix Bücken has been a research assistant in the Geography Didactics working group since March 2025. He coordinates the DAAD Summer School "Environmental and Remote Sensing Data Analysis using Digital Geotechnologies in Research and Teaching (GeoTraining)".
From January 2019 to December 2024, Felix Bücken was a research assistant in the Human Geography working group with a focus on economic geography at Osnabrück University. In the Logist.Plus project, he dealt with the development of governance instruments to reduce land use conflicts and to balance the interests of actors in urban, peri-urban and rural areas as well as with the sustainability transformation of business locations. Previously, in the KlimaLogis project, he developed scenarios for climate-adapted land use and analyzed the perception of climate risks by companies and municipal stakeholders.
One focus of Felix Bücken's research is the critical examination of resilience concepts and the analysis of the connection between organizational and regional resilience. In his dissertation, he examined the influence of resources and embeddedness on the ability to adapt to the consequences of climate change and demographic change using the logistics sector as an example.
Prior to his work at Osnabrück University, Felix Bücken was an employee of WFO Wirtschaftsförderung Osnabrück GmbH from 2014 to 2018. His areas of activity included the marketing of commercial space, the promotion of regional growth and key industries and advising companies on public funding programs, particularly in the area of innovation and network promotion.
