The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time, but is increasingly being pushed into the background - also politically. Although climate protection continues to be named as an important goal, there is a lack of willingness to take political and personal action. In addition, international efforts are being jeopardized by developments such as the withdrawal of the USA from the Paris Climate Agreement.
The peace talk will therefore focus on the scientific basis of climate change and its impact on resource consumption. The central questions are: How can a fair use of resources succeed? Can climate protection measures increase inequality? Do emerging countries have a right to fossil fuels? And what conflicting goals exist in politics and society and how do they influence our actions?
