Measuring impact, shaping the future: The balancing act between high expectations and reality

Dr. Judith Terstriep, Westfälische Hochschule Gelsenkirchen, speaks as part of the Scientists for Future Osnabrück lecture series "Climate and Biodiversity in Crisis: Paths to a Sustainable Future". (Talk in German)

How can we work together to tackle the major challenges of our time - climate change, just and ecological transformation, an ageing society and many more - with new solutions that bring real added value to our society? And how can we measure this added value?

These questions concern us all, as they shape our daily actions, our quality of life and the way we live together. The lecture will focus on exploring these issues and how social innovations can contribute to them. It will also take a differentiated look at possible negative and unintended consequences of social innovations - an aspect that is often neglected but is crucial. I cordially invite you to discuss together how we can become even more effective in these areas and shape a future worth living. Let's seize the opportunities and challenges of an active civil society and pave the way for sustainable change!
