Osnabrück University invites you to a public conference

The future of literature: new ways of communicating literature?

What does the future of literature look like? This question is the focus of the conference "Zukunft: Literatur - Neue Formen der Literaturvermittlung" on November 14 and 15 in Osnabrück.

Has the book had its day or is it experiencing a new heyday? How can schools and cultural institutions give reading a new lease of life? Do we perhaps need to think "literature" in a completely different way? And what role do the new media play? These questions will be addressed at the conference "Future: Literature - New Forms of Literature Education" on November 14 and 15. It is being organized by Osnabrück University and the West Lower Saxony Literature Office, sponsored by the Sparkasse Osnabrück Foundation, the Osnabrück University Society, zukunft.niedersachsen and the Felicitas and Werner Egerland Foundation.

In addition to workshops for school classes, there will be numerous public lectures and panel discussions.

On Friday, November 14, at 4 p.m. in the Renaissance Hall of the Ledenhof, there will be a discussion on "Teaching literature in educational institutions", while on Saturday, November 15, at 11 a.m. in the same location, the topic will be "Promoting literature as an element of reading promotion." A lecture by Prof. Walter Erhart from Bielefeld University will follow in the Museumsquartier at 2 pm. Topic: "Song lyrics and more: New paths for literature houses, theaters and co." The lecture will be accompanied by music from the Neil Young tribute band "Crazy Young Horse". Admission to these events is free.

On Friday, November 14, from 7 p.m. at the Blue Note, "Literature thought out loud."
