Performance by the university choir in the former church in Hagen

The song cycle "Dichterliebe" by Robert Schumann will be presented by the Osnabrück University Choir on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in the Former Church in Hagen a. T. W..

His love for Clara Wieck was an anchor point and source of creativity for Robert Schumann throughout his life. Both left coded messages in their compositions; their love is considered one of the most important love stories of the Romantic period. On Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Osnabrück University Choir will present the song cycle "Dichterliebe" with texts by Heinrich Heine in a new adaptation for four-part choir and piano by Hye-Young Cho.

The program will be complemented by further works by Schumann for choir and piano as well as chamber music from his "Märchenerzählungen". The event begins at 7.30 pm in the former church in Hagen a. T. W., admission is free.
