TIN* Consulting

In our TIN* consulting (Trans*, Intersex, Non-binary), we support you in changing your gender entry and first name. Even if the official change has not yet been completed, UOS offers you the opportunity to use your chosen name and actual gender in the internal systems. In a personal counseling session, we will provide you with detailed information about the specifics, possibilities, and limitations of this policy.

We are also happy to assist you after your name and gender marker have been changed, for example, if this change needs to be communicated to your colleagues or professors, or if you experience discrimination in the process.

Information on Legal Name Changes

If you have had your first name and/or gender entry legally changed, you can contact the  Student's Office with the relevant documents (copies of ID card and birth certificate, matriculation number). If your university email address does not match the first name you have chosen, you can obtain a new alias from the  Rechenzentrum after the name change has been implemented in the system.

Information on the semester ticket

A name change in the university system is automatically transmitted to the portal from which you obtain your semester ticket. This transmission may take a few days. If the wrong name is still displayed, open the portal in an incognito window or delete your browser data. If you have any questions about the portal or the semester ticket in general, please contact your  AStA representatives.
