Osnabrück University Guest House is open to international academics and grantees and is accommodated in a villa at Lürmannstraße 33. The mansion was built by architect Gustav Majewski in 1911 and has well-preserved, landmarked Art Nouveau elements. In 1995/96, it was renovated by Osnabrück Student Services for use by the University and opened as a Guest House in June 1996. The purchase, renovation and conversion of the Guest House were made possible by state and federal government funding, as well as by generous donations from the City of Osnabrück, regional businesses and members of the University

The special charm of the Guest House is not only owing to its architecture, but also to its location: in addition to being just a few minutes from the city center, it is also a stone’s throw away from Osnabrück’s most beautiful recreational areas.

The Senate decideded to name the Guest House after the University’s founding rector and long-time President, Professor Dr. Manfred Horstmann.
