The vocational specialization in Business Administration and Economics is aimed at prospective students who are convinced of the importance of economic issues for society and would like to apply these later in the context of vocational training.

As part of the vocational specialization, students acquire a sound understanding of macroeconomic interrelationships. They attend courses in the central areas of business administration, including corporate accounting, finance and marketing, as well as economics, in particular microeconomics and macroeconomics. In addition, mathematical and statistical methods and legal principles are taught. In the compulsory elective area, students have the opportunity to choose modules according to their own interests. They also acquire basic skills in the didactics of Business Administration and Economics.

The Master of Education qualifies you to enter the period of school-based training called the Referendariat and subsequently for a career as a school teacher.

A course of study in Vocational Teacher Education is divided into several stages. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Education, you are required to take a Master in Vocational Education, for which you have to (re)apply. The Master of Education degree is a prerequisite for admission to the period of school-based training called the Referendariat.

Of these, 80 credit points are allocated to the subject-specific courses in Business Administration and Economics as well as quantitative methods relevant to economics. A further 10 credit points cover law-related topics. 5 credit points must be earned in the didactics of Business Administration and Economics.
