Psychotherapy training

Osnabrück University has been training psychotherapists since 1999. The continuing education degrees offer comprehensive training in psychotherapy that is both scientifically sound and integrated into practice. This integrated training is guaranteed by strong personal and institutional links between Osnabrück University, the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and various practice facilities in the Osnabrück region.

We offer a 3-year full-time training course to become a psychological psychotherapist with a focus on behavioral therapy. In addition, training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist with a focus on behavioral therapy is also offered as a 3-year full-time course. In accordance with the state training and examination regulations (PsychThAPrV and KJPsychAPrV), the training comprises a total of at least 4,200 teaching hours with the following training components:

  • Theoretical and practical training
  • Practical work
  • Self-awareness and individual focus

Further information on the training and framework conditions can be found on the  psychotherapy training pages.
