Graduate Study Cooperation Project (KOAB)

Osnabrück University conducts an annual survey of all graduates from the previous examination year. The graduate survey is part of the "Cooperation Project Graduate Studies" (in German: KOAB), which is coordinated by the  Institute for Applied Statistics (in German: ISTAT).
Each year, around 65,000 graduates from around 75 universities are surveyed as part of this nationwide research project. In this way, the survey results of individual subjects can be compared with a suitable benchmark, which enables targeted quality management.

The cooperation project Graduate Studies (KOAB) is also linked to the national graduate panel, which is carried out every four years. As part of the national graduate panel, randomly selected graduates are surveyed. The national graduate panel is primarily used for educational reporting and enables political decision-making at the federal level.

The KOAB Graduate Survey project is affiliated with the Teaching Evaluation Service Center and from 2008 to 2016 was carried out in cooperation with the International Center for Higher Education Research, Kassel (INCHER). Since January 1, 2017, the Institute for Applied Statistics (ISTAT) in Kassel has been coordinating the KOAB Graduate Survey. Around 75  higher education institutions and universities take part in the cooperation project Graduate Studies (KOAB) every year.
