Professionally qualifying activity

BQT II

BQT II takes place as part of practice-oriented courses in the first and second semesters of the Master's degree program.

Students practise conducting initial psychotherapeutic interviews, problem and goal analyses and therapy planning in role play. They also try out the use of basic psychotherapeutic techniques as a basis for the various scientifically tested and recognized psychotherapeutic procedures and methods for children and adolescents as well as adults, including older people, taking into account the special features of the respective age and patient group. In addition, they practice general counseling sessions, taking into account scientifically relevant findings and using appropriate conversational behavior for the situation. In this context, they also practise the implementation of psychoeducational measures.

BQT III

BQT III is completed in the third and fourth semesters of the Master's degree course after BQT II has been completed and passed. BQT III is divided into a (semi-)inpatient and an outpatient section in accordance with the licensing regulations. While the semi-inpatient section comprises 450 hours (15 ECTS), the outpatient section comprises 150 hours (5 ECTS).

The outpatient part of BQT III is completed in the university outpatient clinic at Osnabrück University. This includes one case from the child and adolescent sector as well as one case from the adult sector.

BQT III (partial) inpatient is completed for a period of 450 hours (equivalent to approx. three months full-time) in a (partial) inpatient facility. For this purpose, Osnabrück University has concluded cooperation agreements with clinics in Osnabrück and the surrounding area where students can apply. These clinics have different specializations (e.g. psychiatry, addiction medicine, psychosomatics/pain therapy/eating disorder treatment, neurology/neuropsychology and youth welfare) as well as different age groups (adults, children and adolescents).
