Admission requirements
The prerequisite for access to the Master's degree program "Psychology: Focus on Intercultural Psychology" is that the applicant
a) has obtained a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree in "Psychology" at a German university or at a university belonging to one of the Bologna signatory states, or
b) has obtained an equivalent degree at another German or foreign university in a suitable previous course of study; equivalence is determined in accordance with the assessment proposals of the Central Office for Foreign Education at the Secretariat of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.
c) In the case of b), proof of achievements in psychology amounting to at least 90 ECTS points is also required, including
- proof of achievements in the areas of quantitative methods/statistics amounting to 16 ECTS credits and an experimental psychology internship amounting to at least 8 ECTS credits,
- proof of achievements in psychological diagnostics amounting to at least 8 ECTS points,
- proof of achievements in General Psychology amounting to at least 16 ECTS credits
- Proof of achievements amounting to at least 8 ECTS credits in at least five of the following six areas
- Biological Psychology
- Differential psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Clinical psychology
- Social Psychology
- Business Psychology
The selection committee for the Master's degree program in Psychology: Focus on Intercultural Psychology decides whether the previous studies are suitable. A positive decision can be combined with the requirement to complete any missing modules within two semesters.
