Examinations

In the Master's degree programs in Psychology, all examinations are part of the course. The coursework in each module is assessed in a timely manner. The exact nature of the examinations for the individual modules is regulated in the  examination regulations.

The following modules are not completed with a module examination:

  • Scientific specialization
  • Professionally qualifying activity II - Advanced practice of psychotherapy
  • Practice of psychological assessment
  • Quality Assurance
  • Research-oriented internship II - Psychotherapy research
  • Self-reflection
  • Professional Qualifying Activity III - Applied Practice of Psychotherapy

  3. Combination of (1) and (2)
  4. Oral examinations are offered if required

 

The examination dates are coordinated by the  Examinations Office of the Institute of Psychology. The examinations are organized in such a way that there is as little overlap as possible. The organization of the time schedule is permanent examination schedulecan be found in the permanent examination schedule.

The examination dates are usually announced by the examiners at the beginning of a module. Students receive further information on examination dates via HisInOne (online examination administration system). The modalities regarding the offer of repeat examinations and compensation for disadvantages for students with disabilities are regulated in the  examination regulations.

The Master's degree program in Psychology: Focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy concludes with the Master's thesis. The workload for the Master's thesis corresponds to 30 credit points, or a workload of 900 hours. In order to be able to complete the Master's thesis during the module, the processing period is 6 months after receipt of the topic. The topic and assignment must be such that the Master's thesis can be completed within the specified period.
