Dean of Studies
The Dean of Studies is responsible for ensuring the provision of courses and student advisory services as well as for conducting examinations. He or she works to ensure that all members and affiliates of the faculty fulfill their duties in teaching and examinations. In order to fulfill his or her duties, the Dean of Studies may participate in the meetings of the dean's offices of institutes to which a degree program is assigned, but whose dean's office he or she is not a member of, with the right to make motions and speak.
The Study Commission proposes to the Institute Council a member of the university teaching staff group or, in exceptional cases, a teaching member of the staff group for election as Dean of Studies. The Study Commission can propose to the Institute Council the dismissal of the Dean of Studies with a majority of two thirds of its voting members.
Applications to the Study Commission can be made on the Study Quality Resources page.
