Examinations
In the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology, all examinations are part of the course. The coursework in each module is assessed in a timely manner. The exact type of examinations for the individual modules is regulated in the examination regulations (Annex 3).
The following modules are not completed with a module examination:
- Introduction to Psychology (ungraded)
- Research internship (internship reports and posters are graded)
- Compulsory elective area of clinical psychology and psychotherapy: Pedagogy for psychotherapists (ungraded); Professional ethics and professional law (ungraded)
- Bachelor's preparatory course (a proposal [2-4 pages] for the planned Bachelor's thesis is graded as passed or failed)
The examination dates are coordinated by the Examinations Office of the Institute of Psychology. The examinations are organized in such a way that there is as little overlap as possible. The time organization can be found in the permanent examination schedule.
The examination dates are usually announced by the examiners at the beginning of a module. Students receive further information on examination dates via CAMPUS (online examination administration system). The modalities regarding the offer of repeat examinations and compensation for disadvantages for students with disabilities are regulated in the examination regulations (§ 11).
The Bachelor's degree program in Psychology concludes with the Bachelor's thesis. The workload for the Bachelor's thesis corresponds to 12 credit points, or a workload of 360 hours. In order to be able to complete the Bachelor's thesis during the module, the processing period is three months. The topic and assignment must be such that the Bachelor's thesis can be completed within the specified period.
