Information on the Bachelor's first semester induction week in the winter semester 2025/26

Welcome to the "PsychOS" in Osnabrück!

Please note: You will receive the exact schedule in the welcome email! If you have not received a welcome email by the beginning of October or have joined later, please write us an email so that we can still send it to you.

All-clear: You won't miss any deadlines for registering for courses or anything similar! We'll do it all together during Freshers' Week! :)

In the week before the "real" courses begin (i.e. from October 6 - October 10, 2025), we will organize an introductory week for you, in which we will explain everything you need to know about studying in order to give you the best possible start to studying psychology in Osnabrück. We will introduce you to the subjects and the professors, show you the most important facilities, tell you what is important at the beginning and, above all, give you the opportunity to get to know each other! Participation is highly recommended. We will also show you how and for which courses you need to register and help you with any difficulties.

It's definitely worth attending - even if you don't get your admission until later in the week, you'll definitely take away valuable information!

Accommodation options

You don't have an apartment in Osnabrück yet, but still want to take part in the evening events (which we highly recommend!)? No problem! You can stay overnight at a reasonable price here, for example:

  • Penthouse Backpackers
    Inexpensive, good backpacker hotel in the city center.
  •  Osnabrück Youth Hostel
    The youth hostel is located two kilometers from the city center, but the bus connection is quite good. As with all youth hostels, you will need a youth hostel card, which you can easily order online.
  • Otherwise, you can just take your sleeping bags with you on the off chance and there is usually always a nice fellow student who will take you in.

As it might be quite full at the beginning of the semester, we recommend booking as soon as you know that you will be spending the week in Osnabrück.
