Exam registration
In the area of examinations, a distinction is made between: coursework (e.g. seminars and exercises), course-related examinations (usually written examinations) and final theses (Bachelor's/Master's thesis). The module handbook (appendix to your examination regulations) indicates the form in which coursework or examinations are to be completed.
Module examinations
The module examination plans can be found here under "Permanent examination plans".
Please note: If you are in a semester of leave of absence on the examination date, you will unfortunately not be able to take the examination and/or coursework - unless the reason for the leave of absence is a "study period abroad". In the event of a leave of absence due to a stay abroad, you must register for examinations via the Examinations Office. An email with your matriculation number and the examinations to be registered for and the relevant lecturers to papsychba@uos.de for Bachelor's students and papsychma@uos.de for Master's students is sufficient to register. No examinations may be taken for other reasons for leave of absence (see Leave of absence )
Recommendation: For your own safety, you should print out and keep the proof of exam registration . In the event of technical problems during registration (e.g. server crash), write an email to the Examinations Office within the registration deadline so that the registration can be entered by the Examinations Office. After the registration deadline, a reference to technical problems is not sufficient and does not lead to registration! After the registration deadline, late registration is not possible.
You must register for regular examinations and coursework via the online examination information and management system (HISinOne) during the registration period. The registration deadlines are cut-off deadlines, i.e. if you have registered for an examination, you can only withdraw from it up to the end of the registration deadline. After this deadline, withdrawal is only possible for a valid reason.
Note: the examination semester is adjusted to the date of the examination date. This means that the examination semester no longer necessarily matches the semester of the corresponding course. Example: The examination "Research Methods" takes place on 30.04.2021. The 30.04.2021 belongs to the period of the summer semester 2021, but the course took place in the winter semester 2020/2021. You will then find the exam in the summer semester 2021 under examination period 9.
How to find exams for upcoming semesters is explained here (PDF, 162 kB).
Summer semester:
Study achievements: 01.04. to 01.06. of the year
Study-related examination achievements: 17.03. (or as soon as the room & time of the examination is fixed) until 7 days before the examination date (until 16.09.).)
Winter semester:
Study achievements: 01.10. to 15.12. of the year
Study-related examination achievements: 17.09. (or as soon as the room and time of the examination have been determined) up to 7 days before the examination date (by 16.03.)
For planning and orientation purposes, you can find the desired examination weeks in the permanent examination schedules:
Please note: It is always possible to register for the retake date (date 02) of a course-related examination, even if you were not registered for the regular date (date 01). In these cases, however, you should note that if you are ill on the retake date (date 02) or cannot attend for other reasons, you are not entitled to another examination in the semester. You can then only register again for the regular examination date (date 01) in the following year.
Failed course-related examinations can be repeated a maximum of two times, i.e. you have a maximum of three attempts. The third attempt (second repeat attempt) must be registered with the Examinations Office using the following form: Registration for second repeat attempt (PDF, 136 kB)
As a rule, these examinations take place in oral form. Even if you wish to take the third attempt on a regular written examination date, this must be registered with the Examinations Office. The form must be submitted to the Examinations Office in accordance with the above registration deadlines.
It is advisable to contact the respective lecturer before registering for the second repeat examination.
The overview "Contents and structure of the degree program" (appendix to your examination regulations) tells you which coursework can be repeated to improve your grade (= "Joker"). A maximum of two modules can be repeated once for the purpose of grade improvement; the better result counts. The modules marked "W" in the overview can be repeated.
Prerequisite: the selected module has been passed in full when the "Joker" is registered. A "Joker" examination must be registered with the Examinations Office using the following form: Registration for a repeat examination to improve grades (PDF, 154 kB)
The form must be submitted to the Examinations Office by the above registration deadlines. An additional registration via CAMPUS is not necessary and also not possible (as you have already passed the examination). Entry in the examination administration system is carried out by the Examinations Office.
Application for admission to the Bachelor's thesis (PDF, 130 kB)
Prerequisite: You must be enrolled both at the time of application and at the time of submission of the thesis. In addition, in order to be admitted to write the thesis, you must have at least 120 LP in the Bachelor's degree and 60 LP in the Master's degree.
You are free to choose when you register your thesis. You can register using the form for your degree program. Please fill it out, sign it and submit it to the Examinations Office. In the second step, the first examiner must countersign the application. The first examiner then determines the topic. The topic specified on the application should correspond to the final title of the thesis.
Finally, you will receive an official letter of admission to write your thesis. This letter of admission contains all important deadlines, regulations and the title of the thesis.
Please note in advanceTwo copies of the thesis, each with a signed declaration of independence and an English and a German summary, must be submitted to the Examination Office.
The two copies of the thesis can also be sent by post; the date of submission is then the date on which the thesis was posted (postmark). The examination office will then forward the papers to the first and second examiners for assessment. The assessment should generally take place within six weeks.
The Institute Council of the Institute of Psychology in its meeting on 07.08.2019 and the School Executive Board of the School of Human Sciences in its meeting on 21.08.2019 have adopted the following regulation regarding the admission of students to courses in the Psychology degree programs who are not enrolled in the Psychology degree programs:
The school executive board resolves that, in principle, students who are not enrolled in the respective degree program may also participate in the following degree programs:
- of the Bachelor's degree program in Psychology to the extent of 86 LP,
- the Master's degree program in Clinical Psychology with 28 CP and
- the Master's degree program in Intercultural Psychology with 24 CP
A list of open courses can be found at the bottom of this page.
In exceptional cases, the Examination Board may also approve the participation of students from outside the subject area in closed courses.
Justification: Psychology degree programs are admission-restricted, which means that the capacity to train students is limited. In order to enable psychology students to complete their studies properly, the courses requiring particularly intensive supervision are reserved for students who are also enrolled on the aforementioned degree programs.
In exceptional cases, the Psychology Examination Board may allow students from other subjects to attend a closed course on application. Such an exceptional case may exist, for example, in the case of foreign guest students or if degree programs provide for participation in certain courses in psychology that are only permitted for psychology students in the above-mentioned lists.
Here are some further comments:
Even in courses that are open to non-subject students according to the lists below, there is no entitlement to participation. Participation is always decided by the course instructor.
Students who, due to their study and examination regulations, must or can attend courses in psychology to a certain extent must choose these courses from the list of open courses.
Of course, this rule does not apply to courses offered by lecturers at the Institute of Psychology specifically for other subjects (e.g. for teacher training students or students of Business Administration and Economics).
The examination board of the Institute of Psychology decides on exceptions upon application by the student. The application must be justified and submitted in good time, i.e. in good time before the start of the course.

Stud.IP: the open courses in the list are also open for registration in Stud.IP for students from other subjects. All other courses are closed. If there is an exception, the Examination Office will register you for the course.
HISinOne: You must register for the selected courses in Stud.IP and HISinOne. You can register in HISinOne under "non-subject-specific examinations" if the course instructor agrees to your participation. The performance feedback takes place via HISinOne.
