Issue of certificates
From the summer semester 2018, the Admissions Office will NO longer send out certificates of enrolment, as you can print these out yourself ("HISinOne" -> "My studies" -> "Student Services").
Please note: You will only be re-registered if you have paid the correct semester fee. Notifications (enrolment, study progress, BAföG, exmatriculation certificates) are currently only available from the winter semester 2017/18 via the "Student Services" functions. Please contact the Admissions Office (studierendensekretariat@uni-osnabrueck.de) for certificates for previous semesters .
The transcript of records generated from HISinOne contains your current average grade and all the coursework you have completed and registered for. The corresponding proof of these achievements is printed, signed and sealed by the Examinations Office - only then is it valid.
If you require one or more certificates of achievement, please send an e-mail to the Examinations Office with the following information:
- Matriculation number
- Number of certificates
- Reason for issuing (application for internship, application for Master's program, BAföG office, etc.)
- Issue in English or German language
From the winter semester 2024/25, subject hours will be allocated digitally via the SONA subject management platform.
Only subject hours from studies at the Institute of Psychology and the Institute of Cognitive Science will be recognized. A maximum of 3 VP hours can be recognized per study from the field of Cognitive Science.
In SONA you can view all studies of the Institute of Psychology and register directly. Following your participation, the subject hours will be credited to you in SONA. Please create a SONA account for this purpose. All information on registration and use can be found here.
You can see in SONA how many trial subject hours you have already collected. As soon as you have collected at least 40 hours, you can download your certificate from SONA and send it to the Examination Office: papsychba@uos.de.
Transitional regulation:
Hours already collected and signed off in analog form or on the digital routing slip do not have to be transferred to SONA, but can be offset. When submitting your 40 subject hours, please send both the routing slip and the proof from SONA by e-mail to papsychba@uos.de.
It is possible to issue a kind of "provisional degree certificate" (certificate of achievement + certificate from the examination office). The following requirement must be met for this:
- All achievements required for graduation must have been completed and graded at least "sufficient". For the final thesis, this means that two copies of the thesis must have been submitted to the Examination Office and both assessors must confirm in writing that the submitted thesis has been assessed as at least "sufficient".
The final documents are prepared immediately after receipt of the assessment of the final performance (usually receipt of the reports on the final thesis) at the Examinations Office. These documents must be signed by the Dean and the Chair of the Examination Board. It therefore takes around 2-4 weeks from receipt of the assessment to the handover of the final documents.
You will be informed by e-mail when the final documents are ready for collection. If you are no longer in the vicinity of the university, the Examinations Office will be happy to send you the documents by post (as registered mail in a cardboard envelope).
Compensation for disadvantages can be requested from the examination board. The corresponding application (PDF, 62 kB) must be submitted to the Examinations Office.
The following excerpt from your examination regulations (Section 7 of the examination regulations) serves as the basis for the application and the granting of compensation for disadvantages: "If the candidate can credibly demonstrate that he/she is unable to take examinations in the prescribed form in whole or in part due to a prolonged or permanent physical disability, the examination board shall enable him/her to take the examinations within an extended processing time or to take equivalent examinations in another form. A medical certificate may be required for this purpose."
You can find the central Equal Opportunities Office here. You are welcome to contact our university's central contact person, Ms. Christine Kammler, for advice.
Whether the examination office is responsible for processing an application can usually be determined by who is required to sign the application.
Example: Certificate in accordance with § 48 BAföG - Form 5
The BAföG office requires Bachelor students to provide proof of orderly studies after the 4th semester, also known as proof of performance. This certificate must be signed by the "responsible full-time member of the teaching staff of the educational institution". The Examinations Office is therefore responsible for this application as the office of the chairperson of the examination board.
Please note the exceptions to studying abroad.
If you have any questions regarding responsibility, please contact the Examinations Office in advance.
