First Steps in Creative Writing
Untertitel:
Englisch für Alltag und Beruf
DozentIn:
Hamid Asiayee
Veranstaltungstyp:
Vorlesung/Übung (Offizielle Lehrveranstaltungen)
Beschreibung:
"Students [of Creative Writing] not only see themselves as protagonists of life stories, they see that life stories are produced all around us, that much of the post-industrial economy is driven by life stories, that being able to tell your own story and help other people tell their stories has taken on enormous value." (Steve Healey, 2012)

We have designed this workshop for students from all faculties who wish to develop their creative skills in writing short prose in English.

Initial practical exercises use music, photos and other prompts to create ideas for shorter stories which are subsequently evolved further in pairs and smaller groups. The workshop also discusses narrative structures and conventions.

Ideally, participants will develop concrete ideas for their own writing which they can later flesh out individually.
