Beschreibung

Please note: Graduate MA students wishing to take one of Mr Murphy’s linguistic (as opposed to cultural) orientated courses should note that although the four courses offered over an academic year all have the same status, there is a logical order to taking them. If you are interested in translation, it makes most sense to take either Translation in Practice (WS) or Stylistics (SS) before you take Literary Translation (WS) or Advanced Lexico-Grammar in Selected Translation Contexts (SS). There is a logical progression to the courses starting with the V4 AELP Writing courses, continuing on with Translation in Practice or Stylistics, and culminating in Literary Translation or Advanced Lexico-Grammar in Selected Translation Contexts.
Whilst you are of course at liberty to take the MA courses in any order and at any time in your graduate studies, you will benefit most if you follow the intended progression in complexity.
Robert Murphy
