Meaning is central to a communicative function of language.
This course looks at two different "kinds" of meaning: semantic meaning (context-indepedent meaning) and pragmatic meaning (context-dependent meaning) and discusses whether this clear distinction can be adhered to.

This seminar is an online seminar using both real-time online discussions via Big Blue Button and asynchronous elements (Vips & lecture recordings).

This seminar is designed for 4LP students only. Students who need to complete 2LP for the V2 module may register for the lecture. Only under certain circumstances, such as a particular interest in the topic or a provable scheduling conflict, you may approach me about completing this class for 2LP.
